Course synopsis |
Knowledge Building (KB) is a holistic approach to creating learning environment through intentional scaffolding and metacognitive strategies for high level of student agency. Through KB, students engage in collective idea improvement and develop expert-like habits of mind. This teacher workshop runs in parallel with the Student Knowledge Building Design Studio where students explore sustainability issues. Teachers will immerse in the same KB environment as the students and deepen their KB praxis. In the workshop, teachers will learn about and engage in KB through (i) mini-lectures and (ii) interactive design, observation and facilitation sessions, and (iii) discussion with fellow KB teachers. |
