https://forms.office.com/r/d5zgmmWUna The UNESCO AI Competencies for Teachers framework has identified specific competencies deemed essential for educators considering the increasing development and prevalence of AI use in education. In this two-day workshop, teachers will develop competencies related to AI-assisted teaching and AI-enabling lifelong professional learning by engaging in discussions, designing a lesson plan and trialling it with an AI-enabled classroom interaction simulator, as well as a sharing of lesson plans to gain new ideas and deeper insights . In addition, teachers will use learning analytics to consolidate their learning and development from the workshop. By the end of this course, participants should be able to:

Instructor(s):
This course is led and co-conducted with Professor Mutlu Cukurova from University College London, United Kingdom. Professor Mutlu is the co-author of the recently published UNESCO AI Competencies for Teachers framework and will be in Singapore for the two runs of this course. The course will cover the following areas: Day One: AI-assisted teaching and lesson plan design
Day Two: Presentation of lesson plans and AI for professional development

Pre-requisite |
Teachers are highly encouraged to sign up in groups of 3 to 4 from the same school since they will be tasked to collectively design a lesson plan that can be enacted in the classroom. As such, group registration will be prioritised so that participants can gain the most out of the workshop and support each other after the workshop to translate their learning to the classroom. Teachers who sign up individually will be assigned into groups consisting of teachers who may be from different schools and have different subject expertise.
The group should bring along an existing lesson plan that they could modify to include the use of AI. Bring a laptop/device with browser capabilities. |
